    • Description: Grant writing workshop that went over the basics of grant writing including proposing a successful grant and applying for funding.
  • Indigenous Cultural Acumen Training, UVic LTSI, 03/07/19
    • Description: This course discussed how to be aware and knowledgeable about indigenous peoples of Canada. The presenter demystified indigenous culture and talked about the land that the University sits on.

    • Description: As part of my TA training, I participated in a course that talked about the “Inclusive Classrooms” training where we talked about solutions to creating a more inclusive classroom.

    • Description: As part of my TA training, I attended a workshop on how to teach topics that have the possibility of making people feel very uncomfortable. We focused on the book we were reading at the time, which included drug abuse, rape, death, and the lasting effects of trauma.

    • Description: This workshop discussed how to create dynamic lesson plans that not only helped students learn but also added excitement to the classroom.
  • Facilitating Discussion, UVic LTSI, 09/13/18
    • Description: This workshop went through different examples of difficult situations that might be encountered in the classroom. We worked through those difficult situations and talked about how to implement those skills in a classroom.

    • Description: I am trained in CMS website design. To gain this certification, I had to prove that I could code in JavaScript and keep to the University of Nevada, Reno’s style and push for accessibility using HTML and CSS.
